Students at SSE were recently given a chance to interact with Varun Prajda, currently pursuing his Master’s from the London School of Economics and Political Science. It was an informative experience for the students, especially for those who aspire to pursue higher studies from the UK and from LSE in particular. What was most beneficial to all was the realistic opinion Varun was able to provide on wide ranging issues.

A Musical Clinic was organized for the staff and students of SSE at VIshwa Bhavan on the eve of foundation day of SSE. The aim of the program was to rejuvenate each and all. The was musical therapy was given by renowned Dr Rahul P. Joshi MD in Homeopathic Medicine.

Dr. Joshi is The Honarary Homeopath to H.E The GOVERNOR OF MAHARASHTRA. He is The Associate Faculty of the top business School SIBM, Pune. He was a Lecturer at C.M.P Homeopathic Medical College. Dr Joshi is attached to Saifee, Police, Elizabeth and Larsen & Toubro Hospitals as a Homeopathic consultant. He runs Homeopathic Clinics in Malabar Hill and Charni Road, Mumbai. Dr Rahul Joshi is a Sangeet Visharad. He has topped Mumbai University twice in Music Exams. He is presently doing MA in Classical Music. Dr Rahul is presently doing a research on the effects of Nada and Ragas on the human mind, at Lilavati hospital. He has started an organisation called MUSIC CLINIC to promote good health through Music…..He has influenced more than 2 lakh people in last 2 years. He was accompanied by his team comprising of Musicians.

31.07.11 - Common Induction Programme:

The induction programme for the batch of 2011 was held on the 31^st of July 2011 at the Vishwabhavan Auditorium. This was a common induction for SLS, SICSR, SSE and SSLA. The chief guest for the day was Shri Ram Jethmalani. As has been the tradition for all induction programmes, Dr. S B Mujumdar was present to welcome and bless the new students. Also present were Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SIU), Dr Jyoti Chandiramani (Dean -Humanities, Director- SSE) and Directors and faculty members from various constituent institutes.

The Symbiosis School of Economics has joined several other Pune colleges in participating in the Wikipedia India Education Program, a pilot initiative launched by the Wikimedia Foundation this year. The Wikipedia India Education Program is designed to encourage professors and teachers in Pune to join a growing global community of educators who use Wikipedia as a teaching and learning tool in their classrooms. Universities and colleges chosen for the pilot will have the opportunity to participate in the early stages of an innovative educational model that enables students to contribute to the world's largest online encyclopedia while increasing the breadth and quality of information found in this important global public resource.

Dr. Biswajit Dhar - Aug 30, 2011

Dr. Biswajit Dhar was the chief guest at the inaugural talk for the M. Sc (Economics) Programme at the Vishwabhavan auditorium (Symbiosis Campus, S. B. Road Campus), organized under the aegis of the Symbiosis School of Economics (SSE). The session was attended by students and faculty from the various SIU institutions, as well as other prominent economists and faculties from various Economics Departments across the city.
