Debate on Contemporary Digital Issues in India
Debate on Contemporary Digital Issues in India (Oxford Style):
Two topics that pertain to contemporary digital issues in India were chosen:
1) Should the government focus on e-governance policies or should it first spread digital literacy?
2) Should the government be allowed to use social media posts as a basis to prosecute people? The debate was held on October 1, 2015. It was judged by Mr. Sagar Bedre, the Law Faculty at the Symbiosis School of Economics. The debate was conducted in the classic Oxford format in which each team consists of two members, one for and one against the topic. Each speech is three minutes long, followed by one minute for questions from the opposing teams/judge. The participants included members of the SSE Debating Society and the MUN Club.
